DMX

Earl Simmons (December 18, 1970 - April 9 2021) was known as DMX, was an American rapper and actor. He started rapping in the early 1990s . He released the album debut It's Dark and Hell is Hot in 1998 to the delight of critics and commercial success. The album sold 251,000 copies in the first week of its release. [5][6] DMX released his best-selling album, ... And Then There was X in 1999, which included the hit track "Party Up (Up in Here)". The songs he sang "Where the Hood At?" and "X Gon' Give It to Ya?" in 2003 were also commercially successful. Commercially the 2003 singles "Where the Hood is at?" and "X Gon"X Gon Ya" were extremely successful. He was the first artist to make an album No.1 five times in a row on the Billboard 200 charts. 7 DMX has sold over 74 million records worldwide. 8 DMX has appeared in films like Belly, Romeo Must Die and Exit Wounds. DMX was introduced to the business of music at 14 as a beatboxer for Ready Ron. After serving time for the theft of the dog, he started to compose his own lyrics. He also performed at the local recreation center for children younger than 14 years old. In 1988, while in prison for carjacking, he started dedicating a large portion of his free time to writing lyrics , as well as having a rap session with K-Solo. The mixtapes he sold were produced and sold following he was released from prison for carjacking. [3] This helped him to build an audience within New York.
